As Portal Found In The Quietness

Description
In1998, upon its completion, the image's allure seemed perfectly clear to my perceptions: a threshold, gateway, to next event. The forms danced in the space, took position and character; and even in their ambiguity announced attitude, firm resolve...Would their resolve be tested anew, as were their companions of the '70s, '80s? How would this new 'portal' be received; and what would it lead to?
To begin with, the resolve of an image, in late modern times, has as much to do with the artist as the imagery presented - perhaps due to a conceptualization but certainly due in part to psychological implications, given that the boundaries of aesthetics had been pushed beyond limit.
And, as it is for most of the work that I present, this image most certainly has imply in terms of psychological...To those terms, more needs be said:
The mere ambiguity is tell-tale, as is the titling; the mythic if not archetypal associations, happenstance of line, all-over-ness, fragmentation, et al; these are all 'flags', so to speak, how red the flags might be can give the professionals shakes and shivers.
But what is most important [art wise] and too often bypassed by those analytics: is that even if it is assignable to the individual making the image, much is shared with the collective - the entire culture-body that has become, and the time itself, the circumstance that the image emerged from!
So for all the mythopoetic thought, suggest, the subject is as much a societal issue as it apparently is a personalism. Art or images, psychological imply is always suggested, if for no other reason than: We live in psychological times!
And there is a lot more going on than psychological implications in the collection presented, and in the assumed art; these images of their times. The list is obvious and too lengthy for this forum, broadly: a host of social, scientific, theological issues.
What interests immediately, is how the image has remained 'threshold', yet that it has absorbed the implications and associations of near thirty years, and is still fitting to a present time - and ostensibly a future time! And even that it is personalized, such limit becomes overshadowed in the light of the threshold the culture-body has arrived at.
And even if the above issues are of interest, an added recognition has moved forward, bypassing the original theme of threshold. What I once assigned in the original titling is still present; but now it is more associative to a 'steadfastness', the feeling of something being announced as...'resolute'. Perhaps it is attitudinal; perhaps a new title is appropriate? More time, questions and viewings will be needed - and the viewers at hand are encouraged to join in... Is a new title suggested?
