Description
An unfortunate photo-archive for a heartfelt image, from 1995; that arrived most abruptly and without earlier announce. Or, in its singularity, seemingly arrived so; but in fact, was part and parcel, the underlying dynamic, which was quietly, insistently, revealing to view that which is near forgotten but yet sought...behind the veil called: The Feminine Mysteries.
For what other reason, did men, of all statures, of all nations and all traditions travel to find at the seat of those mysteries? What made them important, irreplaceable and most significant to 'men' along side women?
Unless women find new reason for their Oral Traditions, the secret, so intrinsic to humanity may well be lost...Unless 'reason' is balanced in imaginal - call it so, or refer it 'magical' - what metaphor might take the place of said mysteries?
Yet there I go again! Stealing the limelight, with words, when an image in its unique language and multivalent layers of suggestion, knows better and is ready, willing and able to propel any viewer who will meet it, on its own terms.
Women hold the keys...and it must never be lost of view that theirs' is the realm placed in misnomer of hu-man-ity...

Strong representation of the women mysteries. Women bleeding as symbol - a reminder of life and death cycle - Is she coming out of the chaos or is she disapering - swallowed by the turmoil? Forgotten. Or is she coming to the world surronded by the light of hope and healing to share the mysteries? Are we listening? Do we feel and realize the 'sacred nature' of what she is trying to share with us? Is it to late, are we so far gone from our 'humaness' that we can understand her?
