Consequential to an activity of prospecting in the autonomous layers of imagination, especially the regions of imaginal imply; subjective, ambiguous forms, at one time or another, begin to suggest relationships that are more mythical than natural and more liminal than merely narrative.
In this case the time was 1994, the place was Quebec City; and the characters were not unfamiliar, merely consequential of media and gestural spontaneity...
As singulars or as cadre, the imagotypes - metaphor to actions, events, activities and potentials - symbolic of rites of passage or symbolic of thresholds are coincidence to a unique and original journey. But the terms in which the journey configures itself are more in keeping to the language of myth than the reasoned language that follows along modern linguistics.
Which raises the question: Are these depictions dressed of old and worn through mythologies or is the semblance merely circumstantial of a language of image, form; that has paralleled linguistics, if only in imaginal imply, since times forgotten?
And it can also be asked: Is the artist 'following' the tenets of mythologies old mandates or is the artist mature to his own regulation, rules; leading the viewer, as himself, through uncharted time [the next instant], by way of a language formed of mythic thinking in party with modern sensibilities?...
It is hoped that the expressed conjunction is in fact the case; where image is unbridled of the restraints of reason, so too the implications of past times and its myths; but fully avail to the dynamics of mind, in its mysterious proceedings with 'imaginal' imply...As such, 'mythic thinking' becomes inclusive in the prospecting for 'new image', which is, at minimum, part of the purposiveness of artistic explore...
