As much as photography takes up much of my creative 'demarche', there has always been a twitch, inner-stirring, a necessity that does not explain itself, but only dissipates when I engage in the more dexterous creative media.

There is something very 'natural' about drawing and painting (or building, carving, et al)...Has it become part of that which flows through a human's veins? Is it so old that it is more than an activity or an attitude; dare we call it a 'necessity'? - I would not be alone [in this time or any other] to refer it so!

Exampled here is another means that has aided my quiet journey, quiet explore. To be sure, the activity of the craftsman of images is quiet; intimately hermetic, as of solitude. Where dialogue exists but not socially nor linguistically - the dialogue is seemingly 'Felt' rather than uttered. As is the 'imaginal' explore that you, as the viewer, embarks on: behind that heavy old door; or up the rustic walkway and to the left... where...'what' awaits your imaginary promenade...

Was I thinking of those possibilities, back in 1977, as my hand tapped, dot by dot, the thousands of droplets to paper? Surely I did; and more! And how much of it came to be? Was it only passing fancy; or was it as well announcing what could and would one day be - if only to different ends than I could imagine then?

And if something of what I place here now 'arrives', what might we say of it? Whatever might be said about imagination today, tomorrow more will be added. The subject is most exhaustive; perhaps that is why, after so much has been said, by so many, it is never yet conclusive!

And at this late date, it is more than ever, that we as humans need to 'understand' [not merely know] the depth of imagination's Implications. It is an integral part of all that technology is announcing, contriving and implementing. And no scientist can know it better than those who incorporate it in their life's opus, the endeavor of 'image' generating - the artist.
