Description
Just an opinion, yet: exhibiting a wide range of works, especially that were developed over a long period; interjecting anecdotes, questions and intentions; and sharing examples of Work Conditions...all speak to the 'humanness' that is involved in the attempts to make objects: considerable of art. For what compels a person to paint is very much a part of the knowledge underlying the images; and so carries the simple layers of humanness from its making. In terms of a hierarchy: a hero [or the like] made the image/object; not a god, or such...
These types of gestures, demystify the idea of 'artist' without stripping away the necessity of such predications. All cultures need their heroes, heroines and jesters; yet each culture reaches a point in its evolve, where the 'mask' seemingly becomes more than it's necessity demands.
Heroes, heroines and the lesser 'jesters', at those points of time, can actually trade priorities; and though that might not look to be problematic, in actuality, the distortions can eventually tear the fabric of the culture, as violently as draw-and-quartering!
We live in times that finds its masks being pulled-from-a-hat randomly and indiscriminately; fruit and folly to industry and institution alike; competitive, metaphor to the measure of the forces of light and darkness...So I feel an ample dose of Humanness is much to be appreciated and so, one finds here all the examples of human that might reflect such humanness!...
