Back to admire...the calm! I am indeed, lulled....thank you...........

And your comment gives me cause to pause in the image - which in ways is a window comfortably awake on my wall. I had not thought prior, but there is an interesting dynamic in the composition - something that I rely to intuition to regulate. Specifically, it is evident that the flow of the water runs left to right, descending in its course - and the eye follow that reality readily. But the eye and methodology of the artist is to find a manner to keep the viewer 'in' the composition for the longest duration - captivating within the visible of the image. And somehow it happens here - which surprises me and pleases me. The reflected light of the pool of water seemingly points in the opposite direct to the reality - it balances the drifting eye back to the left and upwards - where it can roll once more downward and off the canvas... Thank you for giving me new pause to enjoy my own work VIVA! -- Terrance

Thank you, Terrance. For me, the stimulous for a photo IS the vision, and/but, what I take away with me IS the scent, the good/bad of detritus, or fresh grass............and it mattered also when I did paint in oils........I was intoxicated by the per-fumes, and even some colours out of the tube, had a scent of their own......one does grow to KNOW this 'element' of our lives in art............as you know, indeed.

Late in coming, I do so agree VIVA; 'scents' are telegraphed in images such as this one; and the scents that surround studios as well enlarges the experience - ritual - of our craft. Thank you for sharing your expertise and this comment. -tdp

Truly a living lull, so peaceful! these receding waters, the bright glow of reflections, all in stillness, motion, the scent of the past, the dancing waters of time, past, to come, all here. For me, the beauty of the myriad colors, of natural decay, of new growth, spark KNOWING all is as it should be. ...Kudos, Terrance, yet again, that you SEE, how you see, through your lens, lyrically, eloquently, through your mind’s eyes, your heart....f.v...VIVA

Thank you VIVA; your comment is a springboard for so many notions that attach to our static, yet talkative images. And I much enjoy your referring to '...the scent of the past...'. That we can feel - through our attitude - these captured events [be they depictions or abstracted essences that tease our sensibilities] by 'smelling' is very telling and I have questioned many times, even in the last image I posted. We think about seeing images but we in fact enjoy them with other senses when our attitude is open to receive the Puffs! TY again for your attentive poetry! - Terrance
