Description
Rising from the worst of soils, the wilds of nature are home to every sort of clump of weeds - at least such is the case in the northeast. And these weeds mingle among each other, many growing from clumps of intertwined roots.
Most grasses remain soft, moist and partly green even beneath blankets of snow; many more will stiffen in straw-like color with little resilience to the wind or weighty elements of winter.
And then there are our 'weeds', hardy, strong; drying firm,'woodyish', and often crowned with remnants of flowers in their seed bearing stage. Some stand as clumps - dozens and more - petrified bouquets of season's end. And a person can walk through fields of such clusters and find promise in all.
The palette before the snow arrives is most harmonious, and the fibers encountered among the weeds are more charming as they become familiar. I encourage all to shuttle off to the woodlands, in that lull between seasons, if only to become familiar with the splendor of these remarkable studies of nature.

Wonderful, this image so natural, so full of promise, such proof of nature's knowing that even the least of (us,), .. the undergrowth, makes a difference! This is 'remarkable' , Terrance, an homage to we who wander through the "weeds" . Fav, VIVA

Thank you VIVA. It takes a variety to put into play an ecosystem; what is magical to me, is that we have the dexterity of mind to appreciate it. These images, from one yearlong shoot, continually amaze my mind with new material, 'noetons' of information, that lead... En tout cas, they lead me on a journey that is open to all. -tdp
