Panorama photographs of Palenville and the Catskill Mountain Escarpment - Art

The escarpment of the Catskill Mountains is said to be the most painted and photographed mofit in North America. Is it true? If not, it would be hard to prove the contrary. As the birth place of American Landscape Painting, home the Hudson River School, Palenville attracted hords of painters, engravers and photographers throughout the 19th century and it never really ended. The number of established, time-long motifs is staggering; and as depicted in the photographs presented will be found new motifs - some which will endure for those who follow with creative vision and others of a more temporal nature that will need visiting soon or that have passed on already. Nature stands still for no man nor woman; nature endures, regenerates and becomes anew; from instant to instant, year to year... Intimacies of Nature and Enchanting Palenville, Terrance DePietro 2009
