Description
A torrent,in Spring, the Wildcat in early December is a gentle flow in comparison - yet not less treacherous. Footing, in Summer, is challenging but by November, with frosty days, the tumbled maze of boulders are slick of ice, fallen leaves and the advent of a daily Winter dusting of snow flakes, often veil the danger from view. To slip within the heap of rubble could very well mark a journey's end - no one would hear you; your cries would merely meld with the symphony of a living metropolis called nature - in its wildest.
The Wildcat ends its journey, just atop Fawn's Leap - the most popular swimming hole of the Kaaterskill Clove. Especially perfect by its chasm-like cliffs and thirty-foot high platform to leap from. But Cold is its waters; for barely a ray of sunshine strikes the creek once the water descends from Haines and Bastion Falls, whose water, thereafter we know as the Kaaterskill. Hidden as such or not, few thrill-seekers pass up the opportunity to toss themselves from the picturesque perch!
But much more can be said about that little platform and in short time I'll return to ramble more about braving an accent, in the sublime Wildcat Raven. 13dec18

Can I take that as a Yes James? I hope so because it represents - for myself of course - the feeling of humility that I am affected with, when I walk, alone, in the Kaaterskill Clove. There I wonder, often, how it was for Cole and others when they came upon the rawness of the wilderness - and intimidated them so to record, not only the beautiful but the Sublime of the spectacle of nature. The raven, and what it brings to mind, I find to be fitting in that way...Thank you for your acknowledgement! tdp
